Our Responsibilities

• To develop and supervise implementation of relevant sector policies and plans;
• To conduct and promote research relevant to the development of the sectors;
• To supervise the management of human, financial and other resources;
• To deal with constitutional issues;
• To supervise and coordinate the activities of the Judiciary; Attorney General’s Office; Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions; Office of the Controller and Auditor General; Zanzibar Law Review Commission and Prevention of Corruption and Economic Crimes Authority;
• To supervise and promote good governance;
• To monitor and evaluate implementation of government policies and decisions;
• To supervise legal and constitutional affairs;
• To supervise and coordinate the activities of the Office of the Grand Mufti; Wakf and Trust Commission;
• To supervise the management of Public Service;
• To supervise and coordinate recruitment, selection, training, development and compensation of public servants;
• To supervise the application of ICT in government business (e-government);
• To administer, regulate and coordinate delivery of legal aid;
• To supervise the activities of Public Leader’s Code of Ethics Commission; Institute of Public administration (IPA); Civil Service Commission; and Public Service Commission; and
• To receive public complaints.
